Welcome to Woodturning by Wayne Hall

The woodturnings on this web site are a representative set of the work that I do. Most of these turnings are constructed of many pieces of wood assembled into exacting patterns, then turned on a lathe.  The woods used range from local woods through to the exotic woods from many parts of the world.  All of these works are constructed of solid woods in their natural state - there is no use of tints or stains. Individual pieces of wood are precisely cut and glued to create the patterns you see here. The work is then turned on a lathe and sanded. Each piece is finished with several coats of oil finish, then buffed to a high sheen.

On the Gallery page you'll find photos of some of my work along with a brief description of each piece. The Biography page has a brief description of who I am. The Techniques page is new to my website. It contains information of a more technical nature, aimed at fellow woodturners as well as others who are interested in how some of the pieces are created.
